How does this relate to EPA’s Phase II Stormwater Management Regulations?

In order to reduce the amount of surface runoff and pollution flowing into the Nation’s waterways after storms, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency developed Phase II Stormwater Management Regulations.

Phase II of these regulations targets municipalities with less than 100,000 residents. By 2008, these communities are required to develop and implement stormwater management programs that include public education, monitoring, and construction site control. Students conducting ditch studies should contact their local governments. Your research could help your community to develop stormwater management programs designed to protect your local streams, lakes, or other water bodies.
